May 23, 2009

You shouldn’t miss it!!! This is a MUST-WATCH video for people living in the information age.

Did You Know 3.0 – Over 1.6 million views since 2008
Did You Know 2.0 – Over 3.3 million views since 2007

Karl Fisch has created this astonishing “Did You Know” presentation video first, and it was further revised to this latest 2008 revised version – Did You Know 3.0.

New Media, Globalization & Exponential Times

The idea of video is awesome, though it originally inspires how education should address these challenges, it highlights how new media globalized the world and bring us to exponential times. I extracted some points below:

DID YOU KNOW?

There are over 200 million registered users on MySpace. If My Space were a country, it would be the 5th-largest in the world

There are 31 Billion searches on Google every month. … To whom were these questions addressed B.G. ? (Before Google)

Today, the number of text messages sent and received everyday, exceeds the total population of the planet.

Years it took to reach a market audience of 50 million
Radio 38 years
TV 13 years
Internet 4 years
iPod 3 years
Facebook 2 years

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

Thanks to Karl for this video which reminds us we are living in the information age that changes happen faster than we can imagine. It’s the power of new media too.

Did You Know 2.0

There is an older version – Did You Know 2.0 made in 2007, but i think the figures cited are outdated in just 2-year time.
